🌊 One opportunity, no paycheck, all heart

In his final year, cadet Roberto faced a difficult choice. He had been offered two internship options:

1. A small coastal shipping company with outdated systems, no stipend, and only basic tasks.
2. A high-profile offshore contractor, with better equipment and a solid allowance—but only one slot, which he didn’t get.

Disappointed, Roberto reluctantly accepted the unpaid role.

From the start, it was a rough sea. The captain was distant, the mate barely spoke to him, and his duties were mostly observational. He felt invisible—until one night, two deckhands fell ill before a critical port operation. The ship was short on hands.
